One of the key value propositions of JVA is the high quality of students who join the program. This is to ensure a productive learning environment for everyone. We seek students with various study backgrounds, cultures and ideas with the potential to make a positive impact on this world through the power of entrepreneurship.

In the following, we will describe the process of how to become a JVA Startup Bootcamp student:

Selection Criteria (Who are we looking for?)

General requirements

We are looking for students, who will make the most of their time as a JVA Student. This implies the importance of being curious, open-minded, ambitious, entrepreneurial and empathetic.

More specifically, suitable candidates would show any of the following characteristics

• [ ] Success in extracurricular, professional endeavors
• [ ] Proven ability to work in a team
• [ ] Ability to think analytically and creatively
• [ ] Embracing constant personal/professional growth

Hard requirements

• [ ] You are enrolled as a university student in the Tokyo area for the program period
• [ ] You are able to participate in weekly in-person lectures in Shibuya for the duration of the fellowship
• [ ] You can spend at least 10h per week on the JVA Startup Bootcamp (5h/week in person)

Optional requirements

• [ ] You are bilingual in Japanese and English
• [ ] You have experience working at a startup or building your own products in your free-time
• [ ] You have leadership experience at school or work

Who should not apply?

As mentioned, this project will not be easy. As you will not be able to make the required progress with less than 10h per week, we advise you to not apply if you don’t have the time
